PanoramasVR

Panoramas are panoramic images which surround the viewer with an environment (inside, looking out), yielding a sense of place. They can be "stitched" together from several normal photographs, or captured with specialized panoramic cameras, or rendered from 3D-modeled scenes.

Objects

In contrast to Panoramas, which are captured from one location looking out at various angles, objects are captured from many locations pointing in toward the same central object.
Cinema 4D and Vray:

Now, is the time to make a VR panoramas with VrayforC4d and Pano2Vr: i create a simple Cubic VR in very few steps with Vray and the Box camera. Have different techniques to make this: one is to make 6 camera and 6 view, to stitch together to make a Cubic VR, but something’s VR junctions are visible. With Vray box camera haven’t this issue! ;) First, open your scene and decide how is the final VR resolutions: for example, i create a 600x600 QuickTime VR movie.

Go to Output Cinema4D panel and set the “X” resolution to 3x600 and the “Y” resolution to 4x600, this because the “box” rendering have a cross configuration:

Place your Vray camera into scene and set the Focal Lenght =18 (Aperture width / 2) to have a field of View = 90°.(in this current version of Vray 1.05 the box camera don’t work with the Physical camera Tag!)

Now, go to into Vray camera panel and set it to BOX.

I have misses the settings for the interior scene: everyone is free to set the parameters (Vray Camera, color mapping...) as one wants!

Render the scene and Vray show you the cross image.

You see that the image are clean and the illumination are uniform: you don’t see the stitched parts.

Open Pano2Vr program, and drag&drop the rendering into Input section (where are figured the cross image):

Pano2Vr automatically load the image and set it into appropriate way! You can set the Start image of the VR, Hotspots to link to other VR movie and more! (i make a new advanced tutorial soon!)Click on +Add (QuickTime or Flash) and set the parameters as you like. Finally, click on “Create All” button and Voila’, Pano2Vr show you a preview of the QuickTime VR.

I have used for this little tutorial VrayBridge for Cinema4D and Pano2Vr2.
